South Korea is advancing into the next round of World Cup with a win over Portugal one to nothing. South Korea played a good match against the world's fifth strong team with a big support from Red Devils who filled the Incheon Munhak Stadium. It took South Korea 48 years to advance to the World Cup's round of 16. It first participated in the World Cup in 1954. In the other D group match held in Daejon at the same time, the United States lost the match against Poland three to one. However the United States is also moving to the next round in the D group with South Korea. World Cup co-hosts Japan is advancing to the last 16 by winning the match against Tunisia two to nothing. Second-half subsitute Hiroaki Morishima put Japan on their way with the opener on 48 minutes and Hidetoshi Nakata lifted the roof off Nagai Stadium when he headed home with 15 minutes left to seal the win and set up a second-round meeting with Group C runners-up Turkey on Tuesday. A late goal from veteran Marc Wilmots was enough to put Belgium through to the second round of the World Cup after they saw off Russia 3-2 in Group H on Friday. The Belgian captain struck in the 82nd minute with a deflected shot, and while Dmitry Sychyov pulled one back for Russia in the 88th minute to make it 3-2 and set up a thrilling finish, the Belgians held firm to progress to the knockout stages for the first time since 1990 and book a showdown with Brazil. The win handed Belgium second spot in Group H behind Japan, who beat Tunisia 2-0 in the other group match.
