Chinese Group Tours to NK to Resume Mon.

China will resume Monday group tours of Chinese tourists to North Korea.

Chinese tourism industry sources say Chinese officials and 400 Chinese tourists will visit the North Monday. They are the first Chinese tourist groups to visit the North since Beijing decided in February to reinclude the North on its list of group tour destinations.

A team of 24 Chinese veterans who fought in the Korean War will also visit the North soon. They will pay their respects to Chinese soldiers killed in the conflict and buried in the North, as this year marks the 60th anniversary of the war's outbreak.

A Chinese travel agent says Pyongyang is preparing tour packages reminding Chinese tourists of the two countries’ blood alliance.

Beijing had banned Chinese tourists from visiting the North due to fears over gambling.
