The National Tourism Administration of the People’s Republic of China said on its Web site Monday that about 400 Chinese tourists have arrived in Pyongyang for an eight-day tour.

Mount Geumgang was not included as part of the tour package amid heightened tensions between the two Koreas over the North's recent actions on the tourism facilities held by South Korean firms.

A total of 18 tour groups from ten Chinese cities and provinces either flew over traveled by land to the North Korean capital city.

The tour package, offered by 14 Chinese travel agencies, costs five-thousand-280 yuan, or 860-thousand won, per person.
