World Cup co-hosts Japan is advancing to the last 16 by winning the match against Tunisia two to nothing. Second-half subsitute Hiroaki Morishima put Japan on their way with the opener on 48 minutes and Hidetoshi Nakata lifted the roof off Nagai Stadium when he headed home with 15 minutes left to seal the win and set up a second-round meeting with Group C runners-up Turkey on Tuesday. Japan, who lost all of their first-round games on their World Cup finals debut in France four years ago, also avoided becoming the first host nation not to progress past the group phase. Troussier's side headed into the match needing only a point to secure qualification after a two-two draw with Belgium and a one to nothing win over Russia.
