'Poetry' to Hit French Theaters in Aug.

Director Lee Chang-dong's new film "Poetry" will open at theatres in France in August.

The film’s production agency, UniKorea Culture & Art Investment, announced the news Friday, adding that the film, Lee's fifth feature-length project, will compete at the 63th Cannes International Film Festival opening May 12th.

The movie is about a woman in her mid-60s raising a teenage grandson on government subsidies. She starts taking a literature class and begins writing poems for the first time in her life.

The French film agency “Diaphana” invested 350-thousand dollars in the making of the film.
