Senegal beat Sweden two to one in Oita, Japan.

Henri Camara scored his second goal of the game 14 munutes into overtime Sunday as Senegal upset Sweden two to one and advanced to the quarterfinals of the World Cup.

The surprising Senegalese, making their first appearance in the tournament, became the second African team to reach the final eight. Cameroon did it in 1990.

Senegal will play Japan or Turkey in the quarterfinals on Saturday in Osaka, looking to extend a run that began when it stunned defending champion France one to nothing in the World Cup opener.

In Suwon in the evening, Spain beat Ireland in a penalty shootout.

Spain took the lead in the game after Fernando Morientes scored the first goal 8 minutes. However, Robbie Keane made a dramatic equalizer at 70th minute, winning 30 minute extra time. However, the two teams were still locked in one to one in the extra time, Spain beat Ireland three to two in a penalty shootout.
