Singer Cho, Orchestra Perform for Hansen's Disease Patients

South Korean pop singer Cho Yong-pil and the London Philharmonic Orchestra held a concert Wednesday at Sorok Island, which houses a community of people with Hansen’s disease.

Conducted by Vladimir Ashkenazy, the orchestra performed Beethoven's "Fifth Symphony” while Cho sang some of his top hits and some of the Sorok citizens’ favorite songs, “Dear Friend” and “Dream.”

Some 200 residents of Sorok Island who saw the concert said they would never forget the event.
