'NK Biz Group, Chinese Investors Visited Complex'

The president of North Korea's state-run Taepung International Investment Group reportedly visited the Gaeseong Industrial Complex with a group of Chinese investors on May first.

An official from South Korea's Unification Ministry says a 20-member delegation, including Taepung President Pak Chol-su and businesspeople from China and Hong Kong, visited the complex and toured water facilities and two companies operating there.

The official said the inspection could be part of a North Korean plan to bring foreign companies into the complex or to send a message to South Korea that it is willing to do so.

One-hundred-20 South Korean firms are currently operating in the complex.
