NK's Parliament to Convene 2nd Session in Two Months

North Korea’s parliament will reportedly convene again in June. The North's state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) says the 12th Supreme People's Assembly will hold its third session on June seventh in Pyongyang.

The SPA's third session comes less than two months after the second session opened on April ninth, during which the rubber-stamp legislature approved budgets and revisions to the North Korean constitution.

A Unification Ministry official said that his ministry will closely monitor the proceedings and results, noting it's unsual for the SPA to convene two plenary sessions in one year.

The ministry says the SPA has not been conveneed twice in one year since 1998.
