NK Denies Involvement in 'Cheonan' Sinking

North Korea is rejecting South Korea’s claim that the South Korean naval vessel “Cheonan” was sunk by a North Korean torpedo.

According to the North’s Korean Central Television, North Korea’s National Defense Commission (NDC) offered to send its own inspection team to the South.

Blasting South Korea for having fabricated its probe, the commission demanded that South Korea present to the North Korean inspection team material evidence proving North Korea’s involvement in the “Cheonan” incident.

North Korea also threatened to take a "merciless strong physical blow" against the South, or even all-out war, if South Korea retaliates by seeking additional sanctions in response to the “Cheonan” incident.

The NDC’s statement comes after South Korea’s probe team confirmed that the sinking of the South Korean naval vessel in late March was caused by a North Korean torpedo.
