The Unification Ministry has organized a team to coordinate the response Seoul will take on the sinking of the “Cheonan” warship.
A ministry official said the team is charged with responding to any changes that might occur in inter-Korean relations. The chief of the Unification Policy Office, Kim Cheon-sik, will head the team of some ten working-level officials from different offices in the ministry.
The team will monitor North Korean movements in regards to the Cheonan incident and will keep the presidential office, the Foreign Ministry, the Defense Ministry, and other relevant ministries informed about any developments.
Meanwhile, the Unification Ministry held a senior-level meeting on Saturday morning presided over by Minister Hyun In-taek to discuss the current status of inter-Korean relations, including response measures to the sinking of the “Cheonan” naval vessel and the current state of bilateral exchanges and cooperation.
