UNESCO World Conference on Arts Education Ends

The UNESCO World Conference on Arts Education in Seoul has ended with participants adopting a statement that will be used as an education guideline for the 193 member countries of UNESCO.

The statement, which contains action plans for the development of education programs related to culture and the arts, calls on member countries to resolve complex issues and problems through the use of art education.

About two-thousand culture and arts ministers, as well as experts and activists belonging to nongovernmental groups from 129 countries, met in Seoul for four days from Tuesday under the slogan "Arts for Society, Education for Creativity."
