The South Korean military has completed the installation of loudspeakers at two guard posts near the Military Demarcation Line.

According to an official from the Joint Chiefs of Staff, loudspeakers that will air propaganda broadcasts into North Korea are being installed in eight more areas along the inter-Korean border.

The official said that the speakers have been installed mainly at night, and that soldiers have been on heightened alert near the inter-Korean border due to North Korea’s threats to destroy the loudspeakers.

The military has not yet disclosed when it will begin the propaganda broadcasts.
