Seoul to Kick off Traditional Food Festival Saturday

The Seoul metropolitan government will hold a two-day traditional Korean food and wine festival in the Mugyo-dong area in central Seoul starting Saturday.

The city government says the festival was planned as an occasion to promote traditional Korean cuisine ahead of the South Korean capital’s hosting of the G20 summit in November.

During the festival, a total of 100 select producers will showcase traditional dishes and drinks, including the fermented rice wine “makgeolli.”

An exhibition on the history of traditional dishes and drinks will also run during the festival.
