Kim sends congratulatory message to APEC high level symposium

President Kim Dae-jung sent a congratulatory message Wednesday to the opening ceremony of the APEC or Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation High Level Symposium on e-Government in Seoul. Senior Presidential Secretary for Policy and Planning Kim Jin-pyo read the message on behalf of President Kim that e-Government is a shortcut for a clean and transparent government that has productive and efficient management and provides high-quality services. Kim underlined that Korea will complete the frameworks to implement an e-government by October, saying, on-line delivery of all government procurements will be possible and civil affairs including issuing documents will be available through the Internet. Some 50 government representatives from 14 APEC member countries such as the United States and Japan participated in the symposium.
