The ruling Millenium Democratic Party's ad hoc committee for investigating the gun-battle between the two Koreas on the west sea said that it has secured ample evidence that the North provoked the battle intentionally. The chairman of the special committee Chun Yong-taek said in an interim report based on the results of investigation by dint of the military gadget KNTDS that the North obviously premeditated the preemptive strike. The chairman said that the North Korean patrol boat in this particular battle was confirmed to be the same boat which participated in the inter-Korean sea battle on the west sea in 1999.
