N.Korea Vows to Boost Nuke Deterrence

Marking the 60th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War on Friday, North Korea held an anti-U.S. rally in Pyongyang.

Kim Ki-nam, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party, said at the rally that as long as the United States continues its attempts to isolate and suffocate North Korea, the north will continue strengthening its nuclear self-defense force.

On the Korean War, Kim said that it was an invasion by the U.S. to destroy the North Korean regime and to further its ambitions of taking over the world.

Kim also insisted that the sinking of the South Korean patrol ship, “Cheonan,” was a conspiracy by the U.S. and South Korea.

Over 120-thousand people were present at the Friday rally. Afterwards, the participants marched through Pyongyang as part of the anti-American protest.
