S.Korea to Promote Cultural Assets via Google

Tangible and intangible cultural assets of South Korea will be introduced to the world via the Google search engine.

The Cultural Heritage Administration signed a copyright agreement on digital cultural property content with Google Korea.

Korean relics will be introduced through Google’s YouTube video service and its Street View geographic photo service.

Videos of Korea’s Gyeongbok royal palace, a Joseon-era garden in Damyang, traditional farmers’ music and a night scene of the historical city Gyeongju are currently posted on YouTube with English subtitles.

The administration will continue to post more images of Korea’s world heritage sites and the excavation sites of Korean relics.
