A group of defectors from North Korea says Pyongyang has sent agents to capture North Koreans who defected to South Korea and later went to China to work as activists.
The democratization activists there are working as correspondents for anti-North Korea Internet media or are assisting in the defection of other North Koreans.
The defector academic group called the “North Korea Intellectuals Solidarity” quoted a Chinese correspondent as saying that the activists have been labeled by Pyongyang as being anti-North Korean. North Korean authorities have reportedly sent 60 agents to round up the activists in three northeastern Chinese provinces.
The group said that drug investigators of Jilin’s Department of Public Security arrested on June 29th three North Koreans who were in possession of one-point-five kilograms of drugs. They confessed during the interrogation that they were sent by Pyongyang to capture North Korean defectors.
