The Korea Meteorological Administration said Thursday that authorities from South Korea and China have agreed to establish five joint yellow dust observatories in China by 2004. The understanding was reached during a meeting in Seoul of meteorological officials from South Korea and China, who were in Seoul to set up a joint yellow dust monitoring network between the two countries. Administration officials said the observatories will be constructed in the five Chinese regions, which are regarded as the origin and travel routes of the yellow dust.
