The Defense Ministry has completed preparations to launch psychological warfare against North Korea, including loudspeaker broadcasts aimed at the border and anti-North Korean fliers.

The ministry said Friday that loudspeakers have been installed in eleven locations along the inter-Korean border, and that the timing of the broadcasts depends on inter-Korean relations.

The ministry official said that eleven types of anti-North Korean leaflets have been prepared for dissemination at six strategic bases along the border area.

A senior official at the ministry said psychological warfare would begin immediately should the North Korean military pursue any further provocations.

A Seoul-led international investigation into the March sinking of South Korea’s “Cheonan” naval vessel implicated North Korea.
