The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) said Thursday meteorological authorities from South Korea and China have agreed to establish five joint yellow dust observatories in China by 2004. The agreement was reached during a meeting in Seoul of meteorological officials from South Korea and China, who were here to set up a joint yellow dust monitoring network between the two countries. KMS officials said that the observatories will be constructed in five Chinese regions regarded as the origin and travel routes of the yellow dust. They said China will share real-time information on the dust clouds monitored from the five observatories.
