NK, UNC Meet for 3rd Colonel-level Talks Friday

The United Nations Command (UNC) and North Korea are holding a third round of colonel-level talks.

Officials from the two sides opened their meeting at 10 a.m. at the truce village of Panmunjeon to discuss details for opening general-level talks that will assess the results of a Seoul-led military-civilian probe that investigated the sinking of the “Cheonan.”

During the second round of talks held last Friday, the UNC proposed forming a joint evaluation team while the North sought to form an independent group of inspectors to look into the Cheonan case.
