Kim praises public servants' efforts for successful World Cup

President Kim Dae-jung asked public servants Thursday to take the initiative in building the nation's strength based on positive results from the World Cup. President Kim held a luncheon meeting with 190 civil servants, including government officials from the ministries of Culture and Tourism, Government Administration and Home Affairs, Defense and the Government Information Agency, and officials from host city administrations, such as Seoul. Kim praised public servants for their efforts in the successful hosting of the World Cup, saying, "Korea drew the attention of the world by its advance to the semi-finals and the model behaviour citizens. Kim added that the important thing is to take advantage of the confidence and unity the nation showed during the World Cup.
