The Korea Tourism Research Institute said Thursday the nation's tourism industry can expect an upbeat third quarter in terms of business. According to the institute's business survey index (BSI), compiled after surveying 209 tourist agencies and related firms nationwide, the BSI for sales, operating profit, financial stat status and employment was higher than that for the second quarter. The BSI for sales, operating profit, financial status and employment in the third quarter marked 130, 122, 117 and 129, respectively. A BSI over 100 indicates optimistic prospects for the industry, while under 100 points represents a bleak outlook.
