'WHO Stockpiled Enough Flood Aid Supplies for NK'

The World Health Organization (WHO) has reportedly stockpiled enough emergency aid supplies to provide basic medical care for three months to some 20-thousand North Koreans injured by floods.

The organization’s office in Pyongyang told Voice of America (VOA) in an e-mail that WHO is coordinating the volume of emergency aid supplies with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). The office said that currently there is no need for additional aid for North Korea in terms of supplies for flooding.

The office added that North Korea’s Ministry of Public Health has not yet asked for support. The office said that WHO had paid numerous visits to three regions in North Korea that sustained damage from flooding and that the medical facilities there were all in good condition.
