UN Foundation Opens 75th Library in Ghana

The United Nations World Tourism Organisation’s Sustainable Tourism for Eliminating Poverty Foundation has opened its 75th library in Ghana, Africa.

Sponsored by the South Korean Culture, Sports and Tourism Ministry, the foundation provided some eight-thousand books, bookshelves and computers and opened a library at two schools in the African country.

The opening ceremony was attended by about one-thousand people, including Ghana's vice president and various public officials.

Under the library project aimed at eliminating poverty through education, the foundation has founded a total of 75 libraries in eleven countries by using existing community establishments, such as schools.
