The funeral of top fashion designer Andre Kim has been held in Seoul. Kim died of pneumonia Thursday at age 75.

Some 200 of his relatives and friends attended the Buddhist-style ceremony under a solemn and simple fashion according to his will.

His body will be brought to his home, office and atelier in Giheung, Gyeonggi Province, before being laid to rest at Cheonan Memorial Park.

Police will escort the procession.

Kim was awarded a posthumous presidential medal Friday for promoting Korean fashion to the world.

The lifelong bachelor is survived by a son he adopted in 1982.
