NK's Camouflage Tactics Revealed in Manual

A confidential North Korean field manual that reveals a number of Pyongyang’s camouflage tactics has been smuggled into South Korea.

The manual, obtained by a source through the “Caleb Mission” Christian organization based in Cheonan, was disclosed on Monday.

Published in 2005 by the Korean People's Army, the manual shows the details of North Korea’s strategies on the use of camouflage.

The manual says that the North coats its warships, fighter jets, tanks, and other heavy artillery with stealth paint that is capable of absorbing radar and helping them to elude enemy detection.

The manual also shows that the North has purposely installed reflective equipment at fake military locales to draw attention away from actual facilities.
