N.Korea's Facebook Account Deleted

The Voice of America (VOA) says North Korea’s account on the world’s largest social networking service “Facebook” has been deleted.

VOA said that Facebook did not elaborate on whether it deleted the account or if North Korea did so on its own.

The broadcaster quoted PC World out of the U.S. as saying that a previous Facebook account operated by North Korea was deleted for violations of the social networking service’s policies.

According to VOA, Facebook does not permit countries and entities that are blacklisted or sanctioned by the U.S. to run accounts.

The communist country joined the social networking service last week in an apparent attempt to step up its propaganda efforts.
