Vietnam has launched terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) services on a trial basis.

The Korea Communications Commission (KCC) said that Vietnam's state broadcaster VTV launched DMB services Friday, planning to launch commercial services early next year.

With the services launched in Egypt, Malaysia, Cambodia and Vietnam, South Korean producers of DMB-related equipment are more likely to have additional opportunities to advance into the global market.

About 200 people from South Korea and Vietnam attended a ceremony marking the launch of the service.
