Akita Prefecture Thanks KBS Drama, Iris

Japanese media say the Japanese prefecture of Akita has presented letters of appreciation to the producers and actors of KBS action drama “Iris,” thanking them for promoting Akita’s image.

Chung Tae-won, the head of Taewon Entertainment which produced “Iris” and one of the stars of the drama, Jung Joon-ho, visited Akita’s prefectural office on Friday and received the appreciation letters from Akita Prefecture Governor Norihisa Satake.

Akita Prefecture reportedly is hoping that Iris 2 will also include scenes from the Japanese prefecture. Akita saw the number of South Korean tourists jump drastically following scenes from the drama that depicted the prefecture’s lakes and hot springs.
