N. Korea Airs Program on Kim Jong-il's China Trip

North Korean television has broadcast as a documentary footage of its leader Kim Jong-il's visit to China last week.

The first ten minutes of the 45-minute program followed Kim's dinner with Chinese President Hu Jintao August 27th in Changchun and Kim watching a performance.

The remainder captured the detailed itinerary of Kim's four-day trip, including tours of Chinese companies in Changchun and Harbin and a memorial for his late father and North Korean founder Kim Il-sung in Jilin province.

The broadcast says Kim and Hu discussed and agreed on regional concerns, with the program repeatedly underlining the bilateral friendship and the advancement of northeastern China.

Kim seemed rather awkward in walking and using his left hand but looked healthy and cheerful overall. Whether his son and heir apparent Kim Jong-un accompanied him on the China trip could not be confirmed in the film.
