The city of Seoul has ranked fifth among twelve Asian-Pacific cities in terms of tourism attractiveness.

The Seoul City government said Tuesday that the South Korean capital has been selected as one of five major cities attractive to tourists in the Asia-Pacific region.

The four other cities are Tokyo, Sydney, Singapore and Beijing.

The city government made the finding through a joint study with the World Tourism Organization on Asian-Pacific cities’ tourism competitiveness.

Seoul was given high marks for tourism-related human resources, tourism infrastructure and urbanization.

It topped the list in the categories of information connectivity, hygiene and water quality. Seoul was also judged to have the best Web site on city tourism information.
