Hi Seoul Festival to Open Oct.1st

This year’s “Hi Seoul Festival” will open on October first for a ten-day run.

Jointly hosted by the Seoul City government and the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture, “Hi Seoul Festival 2010” will feature a wide variety of cultural and art programs in parks near the Han River.

Some 70 organizations from 13 countries --- including France, Australia and Spain --- will take part in the festival that features some 200 performances.

In particular, some 20 cultural events will also be held in other parts of the nation during the festival period, including the Jeonju International Sori Festival and the Andong Mask Dance Festival.

A stage 21 meters high will be erected in Yeouido Park near the Han River for performances.

Seoul is hoping the festival becomes a global event that represents Asia.
