South Korean Unification Minister Hyun In-taek says a shared belief in the urgency of resolving the North Korean nuclear issue is imperative.

Hyun, speaking at the Korea Global Forum on Thursday, stressed that North Korea must show to the international community sincere commitment and a concrete action plan toward denuclearization in the near future.

The two-day forum that ends Friday is being jointly hosted by the Unification Ministry and the Ilmin International Relations Institute from Korea University.

Over 100 participants are in attendance, including U.S. nuclear envoy Sung Kim, security officials from eleven nations as well as civilian researchers.
