The Information and Communication Ministry said Monday it will dispatch youth volunteers to 26 nations across the world to promote Korea as an IT power and narrow the digital gap among nations. Under the program a total of 205 youths will offer both Internet education and various computer services to Korean and local residents in Asia, Central and South America, Africa and other regions for 15 days in both August and September. They will also donate information technology equipment, such as laptop and personal computers and printers, to local education institutions. As part of its steady efforts to enhance the IT business and bridge the information divide among member nations of the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN), the ministry will send IT experts and consultants to the countries in September.
