Seoul Opens 2010 Cultural Heritage Festival

The 2010 Cultural Heritage Storytelling Festival will open for three days beginning Friday in Seoul.

The festival will be hosted by the Cultural Heritage Administration of Korea, the Korea Tourism Organization and the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation.

The festival is used as a venue to pass on cultural heritage and history to future generations through anecdotes and stories.

It will be held at Deoksu Palace in Seoul and will have stories on when modern devices and foods --- including the telephone, electric lighting and coffee --- were introduced into the palace.

There will also be a number of exhibitions, concerts, films, and live performances, including a recreation of meetings between foreign diplomats and the Korean emperor.
