The leading French daily Le Monde has featured the spicy side dish "kimchi" and marinated grilled beef "bulgogi" as Korea's representative food.

The paper says kimchi's sharp and spicy taste and the unique flavor of fermented food fascinate the taste buds of gourmets.

Le Monde adds that bulgogi is a special Korean menu for which every household has its own recipe.
