KBS World Radio Launches App for Samsung Smartphone

KBS World Radio, the overseas service of the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), has in collaboration with Samsung Electronics, developed and launched its KBS World Radio application exclusively for “bada,” an operating system for Samsung smartphones.

The KBS World Radio app, launched on September seventh, can now be downloaded on the Samsung application Web site for use on the Samsung Wave S8500 phone.

Samsung’s application page (www.samsungapps.com) is available in 100 nations around the world.

The app provides a wide variety of programs, music, news articles and podcasts. It also provides basic information on Korea’s history, language, environment and tourism hotspots.

KBS World Radio also launched in June its “Let’s Learn Korean with KBS” application that can be accessed using Samsung Electronics’ bada platform. KBS World Radio broadcasts in eleven languages.
