The Seoul Metropolitan Government and LG Electronics will host an event on the globalization of Korean food for two days starting Tuesday.

South Korean celebrity chef Edward Kwon and world-renowned French chef Guy Martin will take part in the event and will offer suggestions on ways to further globalize Korean cuisine.

Kwon, who is a global publicity ambassador for Seoul, will showcase a standardized Korean dinner which will include dishes such as the Korean chicken soup “samgyetang” and a seafood and chilled vegetable dish called “naengchae.”

Martin is expected to present a dinner course using ingredients commonly used in Korean cooking.

The Seoul government plans to appoint Martin as a publicity ambassador for the globalization of Korean food. The government also plans to have 40 chefs from around the world that will take part in a global amateur cooking competition Wednesday become active supporters of Korean food.
