North Korean defectors held a rally in Seoul on Thursday to condemn the North’s reported plans to pursue a third generation father-to-son power succession.

The leader of an organization called for the some 20-thousand North Korean defectors in South Korea to unite to prevent the North from handing down power from current leader Kim Jong-il to third son and heir apparent Kim Jong-un.

After the rally, the participants said they would form an emergency response committee comprised of some 30 organizations of North Korean defectors to continue their opposition to such power succession plans.
