North Korea is posting pictures and videos on the Web site "YouTube," the social networking service "Twitter" and the photo sharing Web site "Flickr" to promote its regime.

A Web site operated by the North's Committee for Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland, or "Uriminjok-kkiri," joined Flickr last month and has since posted a total of 26 photos.

Eight of the photos showed a fireworks event held in Pyongyang on September eighth, while others showed the streets of the North Korean capital city.

The North has posted about 500 videos on YouTube and left about 700 short messages on Twitter since mid-July promoting the regime.
