15 dead and 4 missing due to heavy rains in Korea.

The Korean National Disaster Prevention and Countermeasures Headquarters said early Thursday, that four days of downpours have left 15 people dead, with four others missing and caused possibly up to $40 million US dollars in property damage, so far. More than 8 thousand homes nationwide have reported flood damage leaving nearly 2-and-a-half thousand people homeless. In addition, the the torrential rains also submerged some 8,010 ha of farmland, though officials warned that area is likely to grow further as a flood watch is still in effect around the Geum, Seomjin and Nakdong rivers. North Chungcheong Province saw the greatest property damage of over 12 billion won, followed by Kyeonggi Province, Kangwon Province and South Chungchong Province with at least 8 billion won. Some inter-city expressways were also closed to traffic. Passenger ferry services on 85 of 97 sea routes remained suspended.
