Gov’t to Designate Day for Popular Culture

The government will devise measures to promote the country’s popular culture.

To that end, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will designate November 22nd each year as the day of pop culture and hold an awards ceremony. The ministry will also announce its plans to facilitate the development of popular culture and the arts.

The ministry, in particular, will select and award those who have made significant contributions to pop culture so that entertainers can enjoy a higher social standing and prestige while taking pride in their roles.
