UM: Resuming Inter-Korean Dialogue Hinges on How, not When

Unification Minister Hyun In-taek says that what is important now regarding the inter-Korean issue is how to begin inter-Korean dialogue rather than when.

Hyun said Wednesday that some are demanding Seoul make concessions to resume negotiations between the two Koreas, but Seoul’s stance is that a stable development of inter-Korean relations is impossible without the resolution of the North Korean nuclear issue.

The minister said that North Korea is currently experiencing changes. Hyun stressed that North Korea should choose to revive its economy rather than concentrate on the production of nuclear weapons. He said that the North should be more open to the global community for cooperation.
