Assembly to Conclude Inquiries on Gov't Agencies Friday

The National Assembly will conclude its three-week inquiry on government agencies Friday.

On the last day of the inquiries, the parliamentary committee on public administration will question officials of the Ministry of Public Administration and Security as well as the National Police Agency on plans to maintain security during the G20 summit and ways to prevent sex crimes.

During the inquiry, legislators and government officials are expected to clash over ways to handle revisions to a law on assembly and demonstration. The revised bill bans outdoor demonstrations from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.

During its inquiry on the Financial Services Commission and the Financial Supervisory Service, the parliamentary committee on national policy will question financial officials on the mismanagement of internal feuding at Shinhan Financial Group and a bribery scandal involving Taekwang Industry.

The 13 standing committees will wrap up their inquiries on Friday and three special committees --- including ones on steering, intelligence and gender equality and family --- will start their own inquiries next week.
