2010 Seoul Lantern Festival to Open Friday

The 2010 Seoul Lantern Festival will begin at Cheonggye Plaza on Friday for the next ten days.

This year’s festival will feature lanterns from nations around the world.

The lanterns will be lit Friday sequentially beginning at Cheonggye Plaza and ending halfway down the Cheonggye Stream.

In addition, there will be a 15-meter-wide, three-meter-tall lantern to commemorate the G20 summit that opens in Seoul next Thursday. It will be decorated with the flags of the nations participating in the summit.
