VOA: N.Korean Average Life Expectancy Drops 7.4yrs

The Voice of America (VOA) is reporting that North Korea’s life expectancy has fallen sharply compared to global trends in aging societies.

VOA quoted U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) data which said that the average life expectancy for North Koreans has fallen to 64-point-one years, a seven-point-four-year drop from 71-point-five in 2008. The data ranked North Korea’s life expectancy 171st worldwide.

South Korea’s average life expectancy was estimated at 78-point-nine years.
