'NK Preparing for Missile Launch'

A Japanese daily says North Korea may be preparing to test its mid- to long-range "Musudan" missile.

The Sankei Shimbun cited an intelligence official knowledgeable in Korean Peninsula affairs as saying that the North will conduct missile launches within the next several months and that the tests are expected to include the Musudan.

The paper said Pyongyang unveiled what is believed to be a new Musudan missile during a military parade last month marking the 65th anniversary of the Workers' Party.

The Musudan is believed to have a range of three-thousand kilometers and is thus capable of hitting Japan or the U.S. territory of Guam.
